|Dacia Gallery is pleased to present Et Pingere, a group exhibition comprised from artists that came from all over the world to New York City to attend Dacia Gallery’s Artist Residency for fall 2016. This collection of work displays the endeavor of these notable artists that have been working on figure painting for the last few weeks to create and develope body of work. The paintings were created under the instruction of artist Marshall Jones, one of the top figurative painters today. Chalice Bartsch-Bailley: (Florida, b.1990) received a BFA in painting, winter 2015 from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA. She currently works and resides in Charlotte, NC.
Lydia Frost: is a mixed media artist based in Wisconsin. She went on to study fine arts and media production at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She has felt drawn to many different forms of art, such as, drawing, painting, ceramics, and video production. In the future she hopes to one day work as a Fine Arts Professor and teach students that are equally as passionate about art as she is.
Seth Foss: is a NYC based artist and obtained his art education from London College of Fashion. He explores a wide range of media and imagery with a common theme of the darker sides of humanity and the power and importance of nature.
Alex Ortega: was born and raised in Mexico City, graduated from Business School and specialized in commerce, but with a life time interest in drawing and figurative painting. He arrived in New York City two months ago to study oil painting at the Art Students League of New York and recently joined the Artist Residency at Dacia Gallery.
Sharon Strine: is a New York City resident artist whose work is primarily figure painting in oils. Sharon's art foundation includes a B.A. In Fine Arts and Education from the Univ. of South Florida, with advanced studies at the Delaware Art Museum; the Rehoboth Art League, Delaware; the McGuffey Art Center, Charlottesville, Virginia; and the New York Academy of Fine Arts. Her work can be seen in both private and public collections. She has participated in juried shows in West Palm Beach, Florida; Virginia Beach, Charlottesville and Norfolk, Virginia; Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Philadelphia and Manayunk, Pennsylvania; Amagansett, New York; and Westport, Connecticut. Paula Turk: is an award-winning multi-media artist working in metal sculpture, photography, drawing and painting. She has extensively exhibited and sold throughout South Florida, where she resides. Paula has participated in public art projects and curated local art shows as the founder and director of ArtShare LLC creative arts group. She is participating in the Dacia Gallery Artist Residency program to further expand her artistic skills and to touch base with the New York art world.
Berry Villegas: is a graphic designer, illustrator and artist currently working out of Orlando, Florida. He graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Central Florida and is now a Senior Art Director at Universal Orlando Resort. Berry is constantly searching for new inspiration in whatever adventure his life takes him through and he’s hoping to, someday soon, move to New York City.
