Rachel Burgess grew up in Boston, and remains heavily influenced by the landscape of New England. She holds a B.A. from Yale University (2004), and an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts (2007). Her art exhibits in galleries and museums, such as the International Print Center of New York (NY), Monmouth Museum (NJ), the Pyramida Center for Contemporary Art (Israel) and the Seoul Museum of Art (Korea); it also features in books and magazines, including CMYK Magazine, 3x3 Magazine of Contemporary Illustration and the Society of Illustrators Annual. She was recently selected as a 2014 artist for Brooklyn CSA + D; she also received an artist-in-residency grant through the Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park, ME. In 2015 she was named a New and Notable Artist by Drawing Magazine. She currently lives and works in New York.
